lexicon of a toddler

paul is one talkative little guy. unfortunately, i don't understand him most of the time. "i'm sorry, i have no idea what you're saying" is probably the thing i say most often, second only to "do you need to be changed?" he has his own vocabulary -- mostly made up of garbled real words, but there are a few code words that mean something completely different. it makes sense he does this -- hell, the kid made up signs.

* nilk = milk

* do it = i'll do it, so move/let go/leave me alone.

* arfur = arthur

* ss = thomas

* gorndan = gordon

* again! = he now says this instead of "more! more!"

* right there! = could be anywhere

* joe-car/car wash = the "blue's big car trip" ep of blue's clues

* go'way = i disagree with you completely, but i don't actually want you to leave

* apple cart = i want to look at toy trains on the computer to decide what i want you to buy next

* rogerds = mr. rogers

* kerane = crane

* keranky = cranky

* me = paul, mom, dad, grandma, etc. etc. etc. (depending on context)

* kea = ikea

* orange guy = i want to watch the video for "grumpy" by music for aardvarks

* home = our house

* house = either my mom's house or better yet, anything with a roof that isn't home
