today a boy consented to wear the monkey.

i don't know what convinced him or why today was to be the grand and glorious day, but i don't care. he ran (and i ran) and walked through little doorways at ikea (and so did i, thank goodness i'm short and reasonably flexible) and otherwise dashed about without needing to hold any hands. i think he may have even enjoyed the freedom. we did get a lot of odd looks, though, but what do i care? my child was having fun and being safe at the same time.
