pauly appleseed
paul still speaks like every word is a self-contained sentence (much like william shatner). last night in the car we were playing with my watch. i told him it went on my wrist, so he wanted it on his wrist. "wris!" he crowed. then he held up his leg and pointed.
me: you want this on your foot?
paul: no.
me: you want this on your ankle?
paul: angglle.
me: ankle.
paul: ankle. wris! ankle. wris!
then somehow ankle turned into apple.
paul: apple. wris!
me: apple pie.
paul: apple. pie!
cam: yay!
paul: apple. juice.
paul: apple. pop.*
paul: apple. wris.
paul: apple. guy.
paul: apple. paul.
paul: apple. dad.
paul: apple. mom.
when we got home, he turned to me and said, "want. apple. pop." it was a milestone for him -- a three-word string! i almost said "yes" to celebrate the occasion, but come on, even i, junk food parent that i am, don't give my toddler popsicles at 9 pm.
*one of paul's favorite snacks is apple juice frozen in a little popsicle mold we bought at target. very well spent $2.
