brown paper packages tied up with string
ever since the day that a package arrived from mytoybox.com containing a thomas the tank engine extravaganza -- 60th anniversary henry, george the "steam. rowwer," "skarwowy," the clock tower and a discontinued engine wash -- paul has expected every box in the mail to contain trains.
we are cursed.
one day, it was a woot deal. another day it was memory for cam's computer. paul's disappointment was tangible.
it reminds me of christmas when cam's mom bought paul a pair of thomas shoes. he opened the box eagerly because it was that distinctive blue that just screams "thomas. thomas!" i thought he was going to fall over when he saw the shoes. he closed it again. then opened it again. his expression was "where are the trains? false advertising! false advertising!"
we had decided that the toy buying madness had to come to an end. and then, of course, i check my email and see that creativetrains.com finally has the two new items i've been waiting for -- the troublesome trucks and birthday thomas. damn.
cam: oh no! i suppose we can't avoid those :)
i think i'll wait... until tomorrow.
