on the phone with my mom:
me: ... and the coffeemaker is broken, so i didn't have any coffee. now i have a headache.
my mom: what's wrong with the coffeemaker?
me: it's hard to explain.
paul: [grabs phone] talk to mommy!
paul: what's wrong with the coffeemaker, mommy?
me: it's broken.
paul: oh, thanks.
paul: bye.
me: um, bye.
my mom: [laughing]
