ingenuity

paul sat on the floor in a simulated bedroom in ikea, playing happily with blocks and train tracks (odd lack of trains, there were). one of the toys available was a stacking toy -- a stick with a base onto which was piled a stack of wooden circles in varying colors and differing sizes.

cam was making a little makeshift car/train/thing drive along the track.

paul: stop!
paul: red light! [showing the red circle to the little vehicle]
paul: green light! [holding up the green circle]

me: well, would you look at that.

cam was quite impressed by this clever display. paul continued to play just like he hadn't just done something really cute.
