the long[est] weekend
today feels like sunday. i wish it were sunday.
i mentioned to my mother that so often it seems like people without kids but who want them have absolutely no fricking idea how much work it is to have a child around day in and day out. (and people without kids who don't want them probably exaggerate about how much work they are.) my assistant gave me a look of pure horror when i expressed that sometimes i'd rather be at work than at home because work is much more restful. i felt like jumping up on my chair and yelling:
do you realize i have had maybe FIVE nights of uninterrupted sleep in almost FOUR YEARS?
i think that might have given him something to think about.
i love my boy, yes i do, but man, he is a fast-moving bundle of noise/energy/independence all tied up with a ribbon of stubborn.
