the most dangerous game

one night a few weeks back i took a few of paul's foam interlocking tiles and made a hopscotch grid. (is that the right word? i can't think.) paul watched with interest.

i proceeded to show him how to play. he proceeded to make up his own rules.

unfortunately for me, one of his rules was that he needed to throw little balls at my feet while i hopped. ouch. nearly tripped a few times. that was the most painful game of hopscotch i have ever played. thank goodness i don't bruise easily.

the grid is still on his bedroom floor, but i ignore it. i think i'll dismantle it one day when he's not looking. i don't feel like risking my feet again for his amusement.
